Steel pile/ Steel pipe pile pier sample size
Steel pile pipes are generally made of ordinary carbon steel, with tensile strength of 402MPa and yield strength of 235.2MPa, or selected according to design requirements. According to the processing technology, there are two kinds of spiral seam steel pipe and straight seam steel pipe. Because of the large stiffness of spiral seam steel pipe, it is used more in engineering. In order to facilitate transportation and limited by the height of pile frame, steel piles are usually composed of one upper section pile, one lower section pile and several middle section piles. The length of each section is generally 13m or 15m.
The lower mouth of the steel pile has an opening and a closing mouth. The diameter of steel pile is from φ406.4~φ2032.0mm, and the wall thickness is from 6~25mm. It should be selected according to the comprehensive consideration of engineering geology, load, foundation plane, upper load and construction conditions.
Domestic commonly used φ406.4mm, φ609.6mm and φ914.4mm, wall thickness with 10, 11, 12.7, 13mm and so on. Generally, the same wall thickness is used for the upper, middle and lower section piles. Sometimes, in order to make the pile top can withstand huge hammer stress and prevent radial instability, the wall thickness of the upper section pile can be increased appropriately, or a flat steel reinforcement hoop 200~300mm wide and 6~12mm thick can be welded to the outer ring of the pile pipe.
In order to reduce the friction resistance of pile and pipe sinking and prevent the end from being damaged due to deformation when penetrating into the hard soil layer, the reinforcement hoop is also set at the lower end of the steel pile. For φ406.4~φ914.4mm steel pipe, the height is 200~300mm and the thickness is 6~12mm.
