Fire grate is a part of boiler or industrial furnace for stacking solid fuel and making it burn effectively. The whole grate mainly includes two parts: frame and grate sheet. Grate plates are usually made of cast iron. After assembly, necessary ventilation gaps are kept between the plates. Separated ventilation chambers that can adjust the air volume are often set under the grate, so that air can enter the fuel layer for combustion through the gaps. The burnt ash and slag shall be discharged manually or mechanically. Fire grates are of fixed, mobile, reciprocating, vibrating and underfeed types.
