Centrifugal pump impeller is an important part of centrifugal pump. They are used to increase the pressure and velocity of fluids pumped by centrifugal pumps. Used in industrial installations that need to transport liquids.
A centrifugal pump impeller is a curved rotating blade. The vanes increase the pressure and velocity of the fluid they are pumping by rotating them at high speed in a circular motion. This creates a swirling spiral flow, forcing the fluid to flow outward from the center of rotation with greater velocity and force than it would flow naturally without any additional assistance from any other force.
When shopping for a centrifugal pump, we always look for pumps that are efficient, low maintenance and reliable. The impeller is generally divided into two types: open type and closed type. But now, there is a third type: the semi-open impeller.
Closed impeller:
Closed impellers are the most commonly used impellers in the industry because they can handle volatile and explosive fluids. A closed impeller is initially very efficient, but becomes less efficient over time as the wear ring clearance increases.
Open impeller:
The open impeller is less likely to clog, is easy to clean and is suitable for conveying viscous or solid materials.
