In many production industries such as building materials, metallurgy, chemical industry, environmental protection, etc., rotary kiln equipment is widely used for mechanical, physical or chemical treatment of solids, powders, gases and other materials. Such equipment and devices are called rotary kilns. The main equipment of the rotary kiln is the kiln shell. The kiln shell is the main body of the rotary kiln.
The thickness of the kiln shell steel plate is about 40mm. The best insulation to prevent heat loss becomes the key to the rotary kiln. The traditional kiln shell is built with a layer of refractory bricks or silicon carbide bricks with a thickness of about 200mm in order to better keep the heat.
The rotary kiln shell adopts the method of partial forming. According to the detailed requirements of the drawings, the specific production process and welding method of a single-section shell body are formulated. Because the outer circle of the shell is not processed, the verticality of the end face to the center of rotation cannot be directly measured. In the process design, the verticality of the end face is converted into the parallelism and the coincidence of the axes of both ends according to the structural form of the cylinder.
After the cylinder body is assembled and welded, post-weld treatment is required, including non-destructive testing, post-weld heat treatment, and pressure resistance tests to ensure the production of high-quality kiln shell castings.
